Millennium Hearing at City Council Cancelled

The August 25th City Council Hearing on Air Rights has been cancelled by Councillor Paul Scappiccio, chair of the Transportation Committee.

As of today, the hearing has not been rescheduled.

Councillor Keane is pressing Scappiccio's office for a new date, but as of today, there has been none.

We are urging people to call Mr. Scappiccio's office at 635-3200 to urge him to reschedule the hearing as soon as possible.

From James Morgan

The City Council hearing about the Millennium Project is scheduled for Tuesday August 25 at 5 p.m. Several of us have called to confirm & reconfirm that date & time so it really looks like it's on. Please post this on your home page & tell everyone you know. It would be great if the neighborhood turned out for this.

activists, residents & other opponents of the project will meet at city hall plaza at 4 p.m. for a pre- hearing demo.

SAVE THE DATE AUGUST 25TH - 5:00 PM The Boston City Council will hold a public hearing on the master plan process and issues related to the Mass Turnpike Air Rights at City Hall on August 25th, at 5:00 PM. With the Millennium Partners project quickly moving ahead (they could unveil their project plans any day between now and October 23rd), all Fenway and Back Bay residents are urged to attend to discuss expectations and goals for the City-sponsored master plan for the Boston Extension of the Turnpike Air Rights, which has yet to begin. The Boston Redevelopment Authority has, however, issued an RPF to solicit bids from firms interested in bidding on the contract to conduct the master plan, or "strategic development study." For more info on the City Council hearing or the Millennium project, feel free to contact Tom S. at the Fenway CDC at 267-4637, ext. 20
